This might be still a little bit in advance, but some time life needs a little planning, and this event looks like one not to be missed! It is called “Take The Lake at Alpine Meadows” and is running March 22-28, 2010.
Take the Lake is a first of its kind; weeklong spring getaway centered around a premier ski and snowboard slope-style competition. Alpine Meadows will play host to some of the best skiers and riders from across the country as they come to Lake Tahoe to compete in the hottest new slope-style competition, while impressing some of the industries top judges, including a special celebrity guest judge. Some highlights include:

* Ski & Snowboard Slopestyle Competition
* Cash Purse / Gear Prizes / Celebrity Judges

It is a fantastic new wine bar, bistro and fine wines/gift shop located in the Ski Run Center. Après has a sophisticated lineup of wines from California and all over the world. They serve 50 wines daily by the taste, glass, or carafe on our unique Enomatic wine-dispensing machines. Après is the dream venture of JP Lonergan and Barbara Tenney, long-time South Lake Tahoe homeowners and new full-time residents in the Tahoe area. Located in the heart of the Ski Run Business District, Après Wine Company is the newest tenant in the recently completed Ski Run Center.
The event that looks most enticing to me is their Every “Tasting Tuesdays” throughout the snow season. You be entertained and enlightened by the staff, guest hosts and visiting winemakers. They’ll share their wit and wisdom over wine (but of course!) and delicious appetizers inspired by their selections.
